How to clean and reset your iPhone to make it work like a brand-new device

My upgrade from the iPhone 14 Pro Max to the iPhone 15 Pro Max was a touch underwhelming. When compared side by side, they remarkably resemble the same phone. What was most noticeable was how spotless and well-maintained the 15 seemed.

Wipe it out

iPhone

It’s true that a tech wizard at Komando Headquarters washes his phone once a year. Although it seems painful (which it kind of is), it may keep yours operating quickly and smoothly. Just consider how much less clutter there will be if you consistently clean everything out.

Make careful to backup your phone before doing a factory reset, as this will facilitate the onboarding of all your crucial data.

On iPhone:

◾ Open Settings > General > Transfer or Reset iPhone > Reset.

◾ Select Erase All Content and Settings.

On Samsung

◾ Open Settings > General management.

◾ Swipe to and tap Reset, then Factory data reset > Reset.

◾ Follow the on-screen prompts to confirm, then tap Delete all.

On Google Pixel

◾ Open Settings > System > Reset options > Erase all data (factory reset).

◾ To erase all data from your phone’s internal storage, tap Erase all data.

Your texts are an inbox too

When things get out of hand, I bet you schedule time to clean up your email inbox. Have you ever treated your text messages in the same way? Old exchanges, promotional messages, spam, and other trash accumulate over time. It is simple to remove.

To erase a conversation, just swipe across the screen. Holding down on the conversation will also provide alternatives. Select More > Trash Can > Delete Message on your iPhone. Hold down on a thread on an Android device, then tap the trash can icon.

Update your OS

Those that respond “No thanks” to any system upgrade are known as never-updaters. For a variety of reasons, but ultimately, it’s a horrible idea. Updates correct security flaws and keep you secure even if you don’t want the new features.

Navigate to Settings and search for updates for the system. You may wish to configure your phone for automatic updates while you’re there.

Get into the nooks and crannies

Take off the case and any accessories on your phone first. They collect a tonne of filth and dirt.
Grease and smudges may be removed with a microfiber cloth, but I like to use smartphone screen-cleaning wipes instead. They are composed of anti-static tissue that cleans without leaving lint or streaks behind and is free of scratches.

Regarding that, avoid paper towels. For such delicate work, they are too harsh.

The ports on your phone get filth and dust. Swabs made of cotton might leave you in worse shape than when you began. If you are really careful, toothpicks work well, but it’s simple to break off the sharp end within a port. Task-specific, low-cost tools perform better. source : usatoday.com

After that, thoroughly clean that case. Use some warm, soapy water and an old toothbrush to clean plastic, rubber, and silicone casings. For leather casings, very gently wet a microfiber cloth with water and a little amount of soap. Rub the casing gently in circular strokes.iPhone
