LAS VEGAS In Sunday’s game, the Kansas City Chiefs scored 31 points, matching their second-highest total of the season, but Patrick Mahomes didn’t think it was the crucial offensive statistic.

Mahomes was more pleased with the numbers one (the Chiefs’ dropped passes) and zero (the Chiefs’ turnovers). Mahomes said he always felt that if the Chiefs improved as they did on Sunday, good things will come naturally. The Chiefs have struggled for the majority of the season to match their offensive prowess from prior years.

“The Chiefs’ offensive output has been limited due to turnovers, drops, and my inability to get to the right guy at the right time,” quarterback Kirk Mahomes stated after his team’s 31-17 victory against the Las Vegas Raiders, who improved their record to 8-3.

These little things have caused some of our drives to halt. This week, we continued to challenge ourselves and sort of went back to the basics. Now, clearly, we made a step in the right way. For the remainder of the season, let’s simply keep doing that.

After the Chiefs have fallen down by ten or more points, Mahomes won his 15th game in the NFL. In these types of games, his victory percentage of 58 is the highest in NFL history.
However, this season, the Chiefs were yet to come back from a double-digit deficit. The Chiefs seemed to be in danger early in the second quarter, down 14-0, since they have a history of losing when they go behind by a significant score.read more

That was before to one of the Chiefs’ perhaps most significant touchdown drives of the season, a 71-yard drive led by Mahomes. The Chiefs had gained 13 yards on seven plays ran up to that point.

“Getting that first touchdown drive was huge for us and it helped us regain the momentum,” Mahomes said. “After running seven plays in the first quarter, we really needed that drive.”

The Chiefs then took over the game by scoring touchdowns on three of the next four drives. The Chiefs scored their first points of any sort in the latter two quarters of their previous four games with two of those touchdowns occurring in the second half.

Rashee Rice, a rookie, gained 107 yards and eight receptions. In a regular season game, he is the first wide receiver for the Chiefs to surpass 100 yards since Week 7 of the previous year. The NFL’s longest current run was twenty games.

The game was tight in the beginning, but Rice’s best play came early in the fourth quarter when he scored a 39-yard touchdown. Rice broke an attempted tackle close to the end zone and ran after the grab for the remainder of the play after making the reception at the 35.

The Chiefs have been waiting for a game like this from any of their wide receivers, and the second-round draught selection delivered it.

Mahomes said of Rice, “I think we’ve really just scratched the surface.” “We seem to be hitting him a little bit close to the line of scrimmage, but I believe he is capable of some vertical threat moves and has bursts of speed.”

We will keep pushing him to be that receiver each and every week because we think he has a fantastic opportunity to be a great receiver in this league. source espn.in
