SAN FRANCISCO: Over 150 individuals have reported experiencing gastrointestinal symptoms, such as vomiting and diarrhea, aboard a luxury cruise liner. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention are looking into this incident.

Cunard Cruise Line’s Queen Victoria left San Francisco on Wednesday, traveling from Florida to Hawaii. There are 970 crew members and 1,800 passengers on board the ship.

It’s unclear what caused it. Cunard informed the CDC that the ship Queen Victoria separated sick passengers and workers and stepped up cleaning and disinfection.

According to the CDC, the recorded instances are totals throughout the trip and do not indicate the number of those who are ill at any one moment.

An email from The Associated Press requesting more information was not immediately answered by the firm.

The ship Queen Victoria left Florida on January 22 after leaving Germany on January 9, according to ship tracker Cruise Mapper. Honolulu, Hawaii, is its next destination on February 12; it concludes in Australia the following month.
