Super PAC Americans for Prosperity Action, connected to the Koch network of political advocacy groups, is releasing a series of new advertisements supporting Republicans in several Senate battleground races. The organization plans to spend $8.75 million on a campaign that primarily addresses economic, inflationary, and immigration-related issues.
AFP Action is spending $1.5 million to support former GOP Rep. Mike Rogers in Michigan, $1.25 million to support Tim Sheehy in Montana, and $2 million each to support Bernie Moreno in Ohio, Dave McCormick in Pennsylvania, and Eric Hovde in Wisconsin. Mail ballots have already been sent out in dozens of states.

According to Tim Golding, senior adviser for AFP Action, “the next 28 days are going to be 100% committed to talking to as many people as we can via the doors and the phones to convince them that our candidates are the right choice.”
According to FEC documents, the organization has already spent roughly $60 million on election advertising in 2024, with party control of both chambers of Congress up for grabs in November.
After endorsing Nikki Haley for president in 2023, Americans for Prosperity Action has directed its energies on endorsing conservative politicians farther down the ticket via internet advertising, door-to-door canvassing, phone banking, and electoral mailings. This autumn, the group will not be spending money to support Donald Trump.
An Ohio commercial highlights Moreno’s business expertise and stresses the expense of living, asking, “Do we want someone who knows how the economy works, or do we want a politician? Bernie Moreno understands.
The Michigan advertisements, which are running on the same day as the first Senate debate there, connect Democratic Rep. Elissa Slotkin to the Biden administration while touting Rogers’ Army and law enforcement background.
Less than a month remains until Election Day, and AFP has already made more than 225,000 phone calls and more than 165,000 door knocks on behalf of Rogers in Michigan, according to the organization. Over 9 million people have been contacted for congressional races throughout the US this election cycle.
