Police in Canada apprehended a kangaroo that had been evading them for four days on Monday, but not before it had struck an officer in the face.
A member of the public reported seeing a kangaroo jumping about in Oshawa, which is located 40 miles east of Toronto, on an unusual call, according to Durham Regional Police.
Drivers, taken aback, saw the runaway kangaroo hopping down the side of the road and posted footage of it on social media. The kangaroo had escaped during its transit between zoos.

The easiest method to restrain a kangaroo is to grab it by the tail, according to the cops who were dispatched.
Staff Sergeant Chris Boileau told reporters on Monday, “So in accordance with best practices by the handlers, the officers just actually grabbed it by the tail and they were able to safely keep her detained in the area.”
“During the apprehension, only one of the officers was struck in the face, but he will recover just fine, and we will not be pursuing the investigation,” Boileau said.
At around three in the morning on Monday, when the freedom-seeking marsupial had “stopped to take a little break,” officers leaped at the opportunity to take it into custody, according to a statement from the police.

According to the statement, “the kangaroo gave up and surrendered peacefully to police officers.” After that, she was driven back to the zoo for an examination in one of our K9 kennels.
During a scheduled short rest break at the Oshawa Zoo and Fun Farm late on Thursday, the animal managed to “jump over” its handlers, according to park supervisor and headkeeper Cameron Preyde, who spoke with CBC. The animal was headed to Quebec.

The kangaroo, who is around four years old and being moved with her adult young, was not easy to find, even though the handlers tried in the dark.
After a time of relaxation, the 4-year-old female kangaroo, whose handlers may be keeping a closer check on her than usual, is scheduled to go to Quebec.
