Searches for a woman who plunged into a river in the Anchorage region over the weekend to rescue a dog are scheduled to begin on Tuesday, according to Alaska State Troopers. The lady vanished under the ice.
At around 2:15 p.m. on Saturday, a man and a woman were strolling along the North Fork Eagle River Trail when one of their dogs fell into the river, according to a statement released by troopers on Monday.
Alaska The lady vanished after going into an open area of water in the river where they had gone to assist the dog, according to troopers.
According to Austin McDaniel, the director of communications for the Alaska State Troopers, the lady “entered an open spot of water on the Eagle River and disappeared under the ice” on Monday. “That was the last she was seen by the adult male that was with her.”
Alaska On Sunday, a dive team, search team, and troopers looked under the ice for her, but they were unable to locate her, according to authorities. Tuesday is the day for the next search.
There were no wounds to the guy.
Alaska The North Fork Eagle River Trail’s trailhead is located about 20 miles northeast of Anchorage’s downtown. In the area, the Eagle River flows northwest and enters Cook Inlet to the north of downtown.
