Harris challenges the governor of Arkansas’s remarks on her lack of biological children.

Rep. Sarah Huckabee Sanders of Arkansas, the Republican governor, was criticized by Vice President Kamala Harris for saying that Harris “doesn’t have anything keeping her humble” since she is childless.

“I don’t think she understands that there are a whole lot of women out here who, one, are not aspiring to be humble,” Democratic presidential contender Kamala Harris said to host of the podcast “Call Her Daddy” on Tuesday.

There are “a whole lot of women out here who have a lot of love in their life, family in their life, and children in their life,” she said in the filmed interview that aired on Sunday. “Two,” she said, “I think it’s really important for women to lift each other up.”

“There are two types of families: those bonded by blood and those bonded by love. And I have both, too,” Harris, who is stepmother to her husband Doug Emhoff’s two kids, said to Cooper. “I think it’s a true blessing,” she continued.

Harris talked about her connection with her husband’s biological children from his first marriage, Cole and Ella Emhoff, who are stepchildren.

“Those are my offspring.” Family may take many different shapes, and I adore those kids unconditionally,” Harris remarked.

Last month, Huckabee Sanders, who worked in former President Donald Trump’s administration, told guests at a town hall: “My kids keep me modest. Regretfully, Kamala Harris has nothing that keeps her modest.

In a statement to NBC News, Huckabee Sanders stated that she “would never criticize a woman for not having children.”

“The point I was making and that Kamala Harris confirmed by her own admission is that she doesn’t believe our leaders should be humble, which explains her arrogant claim that she alone can fix our nation’s problems after spending the last four years making them worse,” she said.

Similarly, Trump’s running mate, Sen. JD Vance of Ohio, has attacked women, calling Democratic childless women “a bunch of childless cat ladies who are miserable at their own lives and the choices that they’ve made and so they want to make the rest of the country miserable, too.” Vance made this comment in 2021.

Vance’s remarks, Harris said when asked what message they give to women who are unable to conceive or bear children naturally, were “mean and mean-spirited.”

The majority of Americans, in my opinion, desire leaders who recognize that winning doesn’t define one’s strength. “The true test of a leader’s strength is those they uplift,” the speaker said.

Cooper also questioned Harris over remarks made by Trump at a rally in Indiana, Pennsylvania, last month, in which he said that “you will no longer be abandoned, lonely, or scared” if Trump were to become president.

There will be no threat to you. There won’t be any more risk to you. You won’t be anxious about all of today’s issues anymore. I shall be your defender, and you will be safe.”

Trump said, “Women will be happy, healthy, confident and free.” Harris attacked Trump, accusing him of selecting three judges on the Supreme Court who decided to overturn Roe v. Wade.

“They did exactly as he intended,” Harris stated, adding that “Trump has now banned abortion in 20 states, including ones that do not allow for rape or incest. This means that you are telling someone who has been the victim of a crime involving a violation of their body that they do not have the right to decide what happens to their body after the violation.

“This is the same guy that is now saying that?” Referring to Trump’s remarks on defending women, Harris questioned. “Is this the same person who advocated punishing women for getting abortions? Is this the same person who describes ladies using the same vocabulary? So, you’re all set.

A request for response from a Trump campaign spokeswoman was not immediately answered.
