Detroit In order to reduce the danger of a collision, Toyota is recalling 381,000 Tacoma midsize pickup vehicles in the United States due to a component that may detach from the back axle.
A few vehicles from the 2022 and 2023 model years are included in the recall.
In a statement released on Tuesday, Toyota said that certain nuts may gradually loosen and come off if welding debris is left on the axle ends. This may lead to the component detaching from the axle, thereby impairing braking efficacy and stability.
Toyota declined to comment on any collisions or injuries brought on by the issue.
At no additional cost to the owners, dealers will check the rear axles and tighten the retaining nuts.
Components that are broken will be fixed or replaced. The business said that customers will get notifications by mail in late April.
