Customers who are impacted may get $40 in refunds or $60 in credits.
3.2 million Steam Shot-style portable steam cleaners are being voluntarily recalled by Bissell due to 183 complaints of injuries, the majority of which were minor burns.
The impacted goods, according to a press statement from Bissell on the website of the Consumer Product Safety Commission, “may expel hot water or steam onto users while heating or during use, posing a burn hazard.”

The goods are offered for sale by Amazon and other merchants, as well as Target and Walmart shops in the United States and Canada.
With the words “STEAM SHOT” or “POWER STEAMER” inscribed on the side, the devices are marketed under the model numbers 39N7 and 2994. The product rating label located at the base of the device has the model numbers.
Customers who own the recalled steam cleaners should stop using them immediately and contact Bissell to for a $40 refund for each recalled steam cleaner or $60 in credits that may be used to purchases on Bissell.com.
Additionally, customers may register for the recall, get instructions on how to cut the cable, and submit a picture of their steam cleaner that includes the model number and the severed cord by visiting www.bissell.com/steamshotrecall.
